SLSA

INCI Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate
Other names SLSA

SLSA is a gentle, naturally-derived surfactant and foaming agent that creates a rich, creamy lather. It is made from coconut and palm oils (or only coconut, depending on origin). Although its name sounds similar to SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), it is a completely different molecule – much larger and less irritating, making it a gentler alternative even for sensitive formulations.

SLSA is used in both solid and powdered cosmetics – especially in bath bombs, fizzy salts, powdered bath blends, solid shampoos, bath foams, or cleansing powders. It produces abundant foam and gently but effectively cleanses the skin. It is suitable even for sensitive skin because it does not irritate or dry it out.

Properties and benefits:

Produces stable, fluffy foam without vigorous rubbing
Water-soluble – ideal for powdered blends
Gentle and pleasant to the touch
Biodegradable
Accepted in natural cosmetics (used in certified products)
