Description
White dead-nettle is a plant that can grow up to 50 cm tall, featuring white flowers that at first glance closely resemble those of nettles. The good news is that it does not sting, making its collection much more pleasant. In herbalism, mainly the dried flowers are used. When harvesting, it is important to ensure that the dead-nettle is not crushed or dampened, as this would cause it to lose its potency.
Blooming period: May - September.
Effects and Use
White dead-nettle has healing, disinfecting, soothing, anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties. It is suitable for calming eczema or healing minor wounds and burns. When added to sitz baths, it helps against hemorrhoids. It is often used as an ingredient in hair washing products.
When taken internally, it alleviates inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, regulates intestinal activity, and helps with issues related to the reproductive organs or urinary tract.
