Description
Ashwagandha, also known as Indian ginseng, is renowned in Ayurvedic tradition for restoring energy. The root of the plant, mostly available in powder form, is considered one of the best energy boosters for the body, especially for Vata and Kapha constitutions. It reduces inflammation, alleviates anxiety, and enhances the body's defense against diseases. Its name refers to the horse-like smell of the root ("aśva" means horse) and the horse-like strength that its consumption is said to provide.
Effects and Uses
Stress can be a common cause of hair loss and thinning. By reducing stress in the body, adaptogens like ashwagandha can prevent or stop hair loss.
Ashwagandha stimulates the production of hormones with antioxidant effects, helping to combat free radicals from the scalp and hair follicles, thereby promoting healthy hair growth.
